When someone you love goes missing, please contact your local police to file a missing person report as soon as possible. Law enforcement is the single best resource in helping to locate missing persons. Even where the person has disappeared years or decades before, you can still file a missing person report.

Important information to provide is:

1. the most recent photo(s) of your missing loved one
2. a detailed physical description
   1. details to include are physical descriptors such as age, height, weight, hair colour, eye colour
   2. other identifying characteristics may include any tattoos, scar, birth marks or moles
3. other pertinent information may include information about any medical conditions, physical limitations and/or medications that your loved one may be taking.

It is also helpful to think about the activities and habits of your missing loved one. Such information can be useful in suggesting routines that she or he may maintain.
