On February 3, 2017, Mandy left her home on Laidlaw Drive in Barrie, Ontario. The time was approximately 7:30 a.m. and she left on foot. Shortly after her disappearance, police were able to obtain surveillance video which showed Mandy walking north on Penetanguishene Road at about 10 a.m. on February 3, 2017.

Mandy lives with dementia and is capable of walking long distances. In addition to comprehensive searching in Barrie, police have investigated unconfirmed sightings. One such sighting included Mandy walking on the side of a highway north of Barrie on the day of her disappearance.

While there is no indication of foul play, Mandy's family and police are very concerned for her well-being. Mandy was not properly dressed to protect her from cold temperatures.
