At the time of his disappearance, John was living in the area of Weston Road and St. Phillips Road in Toronto.

On January 15, 1982, John called his sister-in-law at 5:30 p.m. to say that he would be coming over for dinner.

John was last seen at approximately 7:30 p.m. at 2275 Weston Road. He has not been seen since.

Prior to going missing, John was a frequent visitor to the Gasworks Tavern (pictured) in downtown Toronto. The bar was located at Yonge Street and Dundonald Street – in an area known as The Village. Whether he visited the Gasworks Tavern on the evening of his disappearance is unknown.
