Sheryl became engaged on New Year’s Eve in 1997.  The proposal was broadcast on live television as part of a New Year’s special in Hamilton.

According to Sheryl’s fiancé, he dropped Sheryl off behind the Concord Hotel (now the Big Texas Bar & Grill) in Niagara Falls on January 2, 1998.  At the time, the Concord Hotel was an adult entertainment establishment.  This is the last known sighting of Sheryl.

Many of Sheryl’s personal possessions were found at her apartment.  These items include her wallet and identification.  Sheryl often wore two gold necklaces, each with a gold crucifix.  Neither of her necklaces were found in her home.

Based on the subsequent investigation, police believe that Sheryl is the victim of foul play.  Numerous searches have taken place, but no trace of Sheryl has been found.  In addition to local searches, police have searched areas in Rama, Stratford and Niagara Falls, Ontario.  These are locations where Sheryl’s fiancé was known to have been in the days following her disappearance.
