In September 2013, a single athletic shoe washed up on the shore of Gull Island in Presqu’ile Provincial Park.
The shoe was determined to be a women’s ‘Mizuno Wave Prophecy’ brand running shoe. The shoe was first sold in the Spring of 2011.
Further examination revealed that the foot inside the shoe was contained in a single black sock.
